Celebration of Gratitude Press Release, 2009

The North American Thrombosis Forum, a 501(c)(3) non-profit agency dedicated to patients and health professionals working together to enhance prevention, diagnosis and treatment of thrombosis and cardiovascular disease through responsible health education and communications, held the “Celebration of Gratitude Fundraiser” on October 29, 2009. This event took place at the Boston College Club at 100 Federal Street in Boston, Massachusetts. Johnny Pesky, of the Boston Red Sox and Melanie Bloom, widow of former NBC news reporter David Bloom, were honored guests. In conjunction with the fundraiser, Drs. John Abraham, Marie D. Gerard-Herman and Courtney Cassidy, Administrative Assistant for Dr. John Abraham of the Brigham and Women’s Hospital were honored for their lifesaving work in medicine. Proceeds will support educational initiatives for the Connell School of Nursing at Boston College.
