April 2017 President's Letter

Our 2017 Spring Patient Educational Program was our best one yet. Attendance continues to grow each year - we had over 160 registrants this year, a full house!

Patients learned about how to prevent diabetes and metabolic syndrome, about blood tests determine your risk for cardiovascular disease, about new powerful medications that are even more potent than statins to lower cholesterol levels, and about Calum MacRae’s $100 million research project to cure heart disease.

According to patients, our key take-home point was the critical importance of diet and exercise as an everyday lifestyle to minimize risk for high cholesterol, diabetes, metabolic syndrome, blood clots, and cardiovascular disease.

In case you missed it, we will be uploading a full video recording of the program and presentations on our website in upcoming weeks – stay tuned!

Looking forward, we anticipate our upcoming annual 2017 Thrombosis Summit on September on Saturday, September 16 at the Joseph B. Martin Conference Center in Boston.  Registration and a detailed agenda will be available soon.  We hope that you will join us.

Respectfully submitted.
