August 2017 President’s Letter

We are working fast and furious to put the final touches on our NATF Thrombosis Summit, which will be held from 7:30 a.m. until Noon on Saturday, September 16, at Harvard Medical School’s Joseph B. Martin Conference Center.

This special half-day educational conference will focus on treatment breakthroughs and updates in the fields of diabetes, DVT, pulmonary embolism, stroke prevention, lymphedema, and prevention of heart attack and stroke in patients with coronary disease and peripheral arterial disease.

The program is designed for physicians, pharmacists, nurses, nurse practitioners, physicians assistants, as well as patients, family members, and the general public.  The 7:30 a.m. to 8:30 a.m. hour is set aside for registration and a networking breakfast.  This will provide a special opportunity to chat informally with the Thrombosis Summit faculty and staff.

Our keynote Arthur A. Sasahara, MD, NATF Thrombosis Lecture will be delivered by Deepak Bhatt, MD, MPH, an internationally renowned cardiologist and clinical trialist who will share with us the late-breaking results of the COMPASS Trial, which discovered ways to reduce heart attack and stroke in vulnerable patients.

NATF Thrombosis Summit 2017 is shaping up to be our best ever academic event.  I look forward to greeting you personally at the Conference Center, conveniently located at 77 Avenue Louis Pasteur, with free parking provided.

Respectfully submitted,

Samuel Z. Goldhaber, MD

President, NATF
