castphoto1
The writer is a survivor of a Deep Vein Thrombosis (DVT) and bilateral Pulmonary Emboli (PE). After recovering from the DVT and PE in 2003, while learning to live with the life long effects of a DVT in his right leg, he developed a syndrome called Post Thrombotic Syndrome (PTS) which has been his biggest challenge. Due to the development of PTS and the lifelong use of “blood thinners”, the writer has had to adapt and change his lifestyle to accommodate his physical restrictions. He has come to learn the following:

1. Development of PTS after a DVT is highly probable.
2. Educate yourself about PTS and make some lifestyle changes
3. If you are not satisfied with current therapies…research alternative solutions and new technologies.
