About Lynn Jennings

Lynn Jennings is a three-time Olympian. A middle-distance runner who earned a 10,000 m. bronze medal in the 1992 Barcelona Olympic Games, Lynn remains a life-long runner. Raised in Harvard, MA, she began running at age 14 on the boys’ cross country team at the Bromfield School in Harvard.

Her running took her to Princeton University and then on to a career racing on tracks, cross country courses, and roads all over the globe.

Since retiring from competitive racing at 40, Lynn is a devoted outdoors woman pursuing competitive sculling, hiking, road cycling, nordic and downhill skiing, along with plenty of travel. An avid amateur naturalist, being outdoors is what makes her happiest. She divides her time between Portland, OR and the forests of western ME.

Lynn experienced her pulmonary embolism in January of 2014. It was a huge setback for someone so athletic and in-tune with her body. She took on her recovery with the same tenacity as she took on the Olympics, giving it her all and coming out on top, literally. In August of 2016, Lynn reached the peak of her recovery when she adventured into the Swiss Alps.

“It was an incredible adventure,” said Lynn. “I knew when I was up at 9,000 feet and my lungs and heart were working well that I was finally 100% after the PE.”

Come hear about her experience with blood clots and learn about her journey back to health.
