National Conference on Blood Disorders
Atlanta, GA: March 9-11, 2010

The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, National Center on Birth Defects and Developmental Disabilities, Division of Blood Disorders, in partnership with the Health Resources and Services Administration, the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute, and the American Society of Hematology is pleased to announce the National Conference on Blood Disorders in Public Health. The purpose of this conference is to serve as the catalyst for developing a nationally recognized public health framework for promoting the health of and improving outcomes among people at risk for or affected by a non-malignant blood disorder. The conference will strengthen partnerships among networks and organizations whereby through the 10 essential services of public health we can highlight the potential of public health strategies in addressing the prevention of blood disorders or their complications.

Proactive Thrombosis Prevention: Patient and Health Professional Forum

NATF’s Annual Forum focused on the improvement of patient care through advancement of thrombosis education. The Proactive Thrombosis Prevention Forum provided a unique educational experience, allowing patients and their families to interact with the professionals who carry out research, provide clinical care, or work on public policy or advocacy issues related to thrombosis.

2010 Annual Scientific Symposium of the Hemophilia & Thrombosis
Research Society and North American Specialized Coagulation Labratory Association

Chicago, IL: April 15-17, 2010

This year's program features simultaneous symposia, as well as special sessions for nurses. Eight symposia will be presented in 6 time slots (four stand-alone symposia and four running concurrently). There will be two breakout symposia chaired by nursing representatives. All HTRS members should encourage their nurses and physician assistants to attend and take advantage of this specialized content. Additionally, all interested caregivers, researchers, and allied health professionals in the field of hemostasis and thrombosis in pedatrics and adult medicine are welcome to attend.

Western Regional Thrombosis Symposium 2010

The University of Utah Health Care Thrombosis Service and NATF will host the first Biennal Western Thrombosis Symposium and Working Group Session in 2010. The purpose of this one and a half-day scientific and academic medical conference is to foster consensus building and collaboration amoung multidisciplinary Western Regional leaders, and to encourage scientific discovery and medical eduation with regard to thrombosis diagnosis, treament, and prevention in both clinical and research practices and health professional and public education outreach.

21st International Thrombosis Congress
