2020 NATF Virtual Summit on Women’s Cardiovascular Health

This program will focus on the unique risks and challenges that women face regarding their cardiovascular health, with a particular focus on thrombotic illnesses such as myocardial infarction (MI), stroke, and venous thromboembolism (VTE). The program will also explore how biological changes across a woman’s lifespan can increase cardiovascular event risk and will further address best practices for managing this risk.

By the end of the activity, the learner will be able to:

  • List strategies for diagnosing and treating thrombophilia states in young women
  • Recall the risks associated with thrombophilia and cardiac conditions in pregnant women and formulate a strategy for treating patients with those conditions
  • Describe how stroke places a disproportionate cardiovascular burden onto women and formulate a strategy to prevent stroke
  • Identify the burden of nonatherosclerotic coronary disease in women

Continuing Education Credit

This activity has been planned and implemented in accordance with the accreditation requirements and policies of the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) through the joint providership of ScientiaCME and NATF. This activity is approved for 2.25 hours (0.25 CEUs) of continuing education.  Proof of participation will be posted to your NABP CPE profile within 4 to 6 weeks to participants who have successfully completed the post-test.   Participants must participate in the entire presentation and complete the course evaluation within 4 weeks to receive continuing pharmacy education credit.  ACPE # 0574-9999-20-020-L01-P.
